Soft wash roof cleaning that kills the algae on shingle roofs instead of scrubbing the granules off.

How Rodney does it
The dark streaks running down a shingle roof are not dirt and they are not age. They are a living algae that feeds on the limestone filler in asphalt shingles, and once it is on a roof it spreads with every damp week.
Pressure washing a roof is the quickest way to shorten its life, because the granules that protect the shingle come off with the streaks. A soft wash treats the roof at low pressure, kills the growth at the root and lets it rinse away, so the roof comes back to its own colour without being worn down.

Questions
Not with a soft wash. The roof is treated at low pressure so the protective granules stay on the shingles. High pressure is what damages a roof, and it is never used on shingles.
A roof algae that grows on asphalt shingles in damp, shaded spots. It looks like staining but it is alive, which is why it keeps spreading until it is treated.
Yes. Moss, lichen and algae are all treated in the same soft wash.
